Welcome back!

After a restful winter break, we here at Praxis are happy to return for our spring semester. This spring will be a full one: our editors will be traveling to The CCCC in March, and to the first-ever South-Central Writing Center Association conference in February, here in Texas. We hope to see many of you there!

We’re also hard at work bringing you our special issue on Race and the Writing Center, with our guest co-editors Dr. Mick Howard of Langston University and Dr. Karen Keaton Jackson of North Carolina Central University heading up a special section addressing HBCUs and other minority-serving institutions. We’re so excited to bring this issue out for our readers, and to help amplify voices that are vital to the conversation around writing center work.

Here on Axis, we’ll also be introducing the newest member of our team in the coming weeks: a Digital Content manager, who will be helping us put out the blog, our digital issue, and social media together, making our web presence even better.

Of course, we’re also looking forward to hearing from voices both familiar and new in our content. We’ll kick off our regular blog schedule next week with a post from one of our undergraduate consultants here at Texas’s University Writing Center. Stay tuned: we’re just getting started!
