Praxis 18.1: Inclusion in the Writing Center is here!
/We here at Praxis are proud to present our Fall 2020 issue, available as a PDF and web-based individual articles as always, open-access, on our website.
For us, as for many of you, this fall semester has been especially challenging as we continually experienced social, political and economic qualm around us. In many ways these times made us look closely at some of our practices in the wiring centers and how they may be working to make a significant portion of our student populations feel excluded. The issue we present this fall includes pieces that address the ways the writing centers’ policies, practices and scholarship that work to exclude many and how we can work to remedy that. These pieces while recognizing the flaws do give us hope that as we continue to improve our practices, we are heading in the right direction. Praxis has always hoped to be part of and to facilitate such conversations, and we hope to do so in these strange—and now even more digital, for many of us—times.
Finally, we here at Praxis want to moment to thank our readers and our most brilliant and diligent review board for their continued support, especially in these uncertain times, as well as the full staff at the University Writing Center at UT-Austin for your hard work and insight in putting together this issue. We’re all so grateful to be here with the writing center community, and we thank you all for being part of it, too.
